I wanted to share some first impressions of my new Caswell Wilson II in Unicorn Wild Elk — and wow, these boots really impressed me right out of the box.
This isn’t a full review or unboxing, but they immediately struck me as a true gentleman’s boot. They balance ruggedness and refinement in a way I haven’t seen often — something I could picture James Bond wearing on a casual stroll through Buenos Aires, espresso in hand.
The leather is soft, pliable, and luxurious. The lining complements the uppers beautifully and feels amazing on foot. The Vibram Londra soles are a game changer — incredibly comfortable, with zero break-in time.
Kevin’s sizing advice was dialed in. I’m a 10.5E Brannock, and the 10D recommendation fit perfectly.
Caswell Boot Co., right here in D.C., absolutely nailed it with this pair. They’ve become a welcome addition to my lineup, filling a more refined, dressier niche in my boot collection. I’m excited to see how they age.
Just to clarify: these aren’t meant to replace rugged work boots like Nicks, Whites, or Truman’s Stone Rambler or Java Waxed Flesh. But if you want something that dresses up well — more in line with Viberg, Grant Stone, Carmina, or Crockett & Jones — the Wilson II hits that niche beautifully.
