Waxed Flesh is created using a unique tanning process that involves applying a special wax treatment to the flesh side of the leather. This process creates a unique texture and appearance, with a rough, suede-like surface that is both durable and water-resistant.

SIZING

The Morris last runs about a half size large compared to standard Brannock sizing — we recommend sizing down a half size. While the Morris is offered in a D width, it has a generous fit that comfortably accommodates many E-width feet.

A NOTE ON LEATHER

Each boot is crafted from authentic leather, which may exhibit minor scratches, blemishes, and non-uniform coloring. These are inherent traits of the natural material and its finishing.

CARE

Waxed Flesh is finished on the flesh side of the hide, giving it a matte, napped surface. The wax treatment provides natural water resistance but requires different care than smooth leathers.

• Cleaning: Use a horsehair or stiff-bristle brush to lift dirt from the surface. Avoid soaking with water. If wet, allow to dry naturally and brush once dry to restore the surface.
• Conditioning: Apply a conditioner or wax sparingly — the wax finish already provides protection. Heavy cream applications can darken the leather permanently.
• Water resistance: The wax finish offers inherent protection, but a suede spray can be used to refresh water resistance without significantly changing the appearance.
• Storage: Use shoe trees between wears to retain shape.
